Authentication of documents

There are different procedures for authentication of different kind of documents:

For Educational Documents

The documents should first be attested by the Higher Education Department/ Human Resource Development (HRD) of the concerned State Government/Union Territory. The authentication must be done with the name and designation seal as well as the seal of the Department.

For Non-Educational Documents

Attestation by State Home Department or General Administration Department (GAD) of the document issuing State Government/Union Territory with the name and designation seal of authorized officer/Department.

Commercial Documents

These are to be pre-authenticated by the respective Chambers of Commerce. The rubber stamp of the respective Chamber of Commerce must be affixed on each document along with the name & designation of authorized signatory.

Attestation of Documents

After the authentication from State HRD/Home Department or GAD/ Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) legalizes/attests the documents on the basis of the signature of the designated authorities of the State Government/Union Territory/Chambers of Commerce, taking no responsibility of the contents of the documents.

Embassy Attestation

Once attestation by M.E.A. is done, documents are being submitted to respective Embassies for their authentication and attestation.

All educational documents must get authenticated by Saudi Arabian Cultural Attaché (SACA) New Delhi, India, before being submitted for attestation from Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, New Delhi, As Saudi Embassy attest educational documents only after it gets authenticated by SACA.
